  • THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND!!

    Dear Readers,

It is interesting to be able to share my passion for God with all of you.
I am really appalled by many people misconceptions about " Christians."
We are no super human beings, but one thing I am very sure that distinguished us from others is that we are called children of God.
As we have obtained this privilege not by our own means nor by any works, but through the intimate love and grace of God.
By being accorded this privilege, I find that it is my pleasure to share what I have with you, so that you may have the opportunity to come to know Him too, and have a full and abundant life.
Let me take this opportunity to share with you what I had learnt while spending time with my son, during the reading of His word.
There was a certain Pharisee who invited Jesus to dine with him.Upon noticing that He does not wash His hand, he marvelled.
However, Jesus knew his thoughts and said to him," Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickness. " Foolish one!." Did not He who made the outside make the inside also? " But rather give alms of such things as you have, then indeed all things are clean to you. " But, woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God.These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone." Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the market places.
The discourse continued, and the Pharisees began to assail Him vehemently, and to cross-examine Him about many things, lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him, insomething He might say, that they might accuse Him.
Many people are just like the " Pharisees," they set themselves to be an " Elite ", and think too highly of themselves, and eventually, they are caught in their own " foolishness."
What does it profit you by gaining at the expense of another through your deceit?
Hence, the " Blind leading the Blind," and both falls into the pit.
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good your whole body is full of light, But, when your eye is bad, your body is full of darkness. Luke 11:34
May God opens your " Eyes," and " Ears ".

  • ALL THINGS TO ALL MEN

    ":) PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE....EVERYDAY.'

    Dear Readers,

I had some interesting conversation with my badminton " kaki ' - friends.
One of them, seems to have a deep misunderstanding about Christian, and being an avid drinker, he was very sore about this issue that a Christian cannot drink. There were alot of " Crab" talk that people seems to be picking up, and many had become ill informed ,or had misconceived opinion about drinking.
By the way, there is no God's commandment that forbids drinking, but we are being advised to not become intoxicated.
We as Chritians, have to be watchful. By our action or the words that we speak, we must be careful not to create any misunderstandings.
We must not become too judgemental, and let our words be " seasoned with salt." Undue comment like " Are you French? ", that you must follow them to drink wine; or the like; is unwarranted. Such unwarranted comment would certainly be hurting.
Hence, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God. 1 Cor. 10:13
Let me share with you an example, true life experience as related to me by one of them.
There was this man whom I had mentioned earlier, who is an avid drinker.
He was relating to me concerning one couple wedding that he attended. Being a stauch Christian couple, they forbid drinking during their customary wedding dinner. This enraged his feeings towards Christians, and although he insisted on having one,and got what he wanted,( I could imagine the process of certain arguments that would had ensued, eventhough, he didn't elaborate ), but the harm is already done. It seems that the harm that he experienced stills lingered in him, and I told him not to " hate " them, and that I would pray for him.
Now, another man told me about his faith as a Buddhist, and that he stand by his belief. I told him about mine too, and shared with him the story of how the King Nebuchadnezzar treated the three men, by throwing them into the fire because they refused to bow down to the image he created.( See earlier article on Standing up for your faith).
Now, the last guy spoke to me about his character, and when I replied I had heard about it , he tried to probe further.
Trying to guess who is the one that might have told his tales. He vehemently protested and said that he couldn't care less about what other people said about him, he is such and such a person.
Knowing full well that he was very agitated, I assured him that, what other people said about him, doesn't mean I had agreed with them. I told him, don't worry, I have my own opinion about him. I don't just take what people told me about him at "premae facie" - that is, on the " face of it".
However, we must learn to accept one another. Each of us is made differently, each of us have our own character and personality.
Character is difficult to change, but personality is changeable.
What we must learn is to " Let no one seek his own, but each one the other's well-being. " 1 Cor.10:24
" TO THE WEAK I BECAME AS WEAK, THAT I MIGHT WIN THE WEAK, I HAVE BECOME ALL THINGS TO ALL MEN, THAT I MIGHT BY ALL MEANS SAVE SOME.'1 Cor. 9:22
May we learn from one another.
    God blessings to all.

P.S. NOW, THE CHARACTER WE WANT TO SHOW IS NOT OUR CHARACTER, WHICH MAY BE FULL OF ' FLAWS ', BUT THAT WHICH IS OF GOD.
( We don't act like God, but we allow Him to mould and use us for His glory. )

  • INDEPENDENT YET DEPENDENT!

    Dear Readers,

I am amazed how confusion between dependent, and being independent arises especially when we let pride takes over.
The simple fact can best be understood by a simple analogy.
Take for example, the "Human body" := it is made up of the head, the eyes ,the nose, the hands, the ears , the mouth, the neck, the body and the legs.
Imagine, the head says to the various parts , I don't need all of you, I can function by myself, and I control all of you. Well, says the "eyes", without me you wouldn't be able to see where you are going, or for the simple fact, you wouldn't be able to perceive your whereabout; you will be totally lost in " darkness.'( Blind ).Next, the nose replied, without me, you will not receive the oxygen supply, and soon you will perished. Followed by the ears, you wouldn't be able to process the thoughts without me, as you wouldn't be able to hear ( Deaf ). The mouth retorts, you would be useless without me, as you wouldn't be able to project your thoughts or ideas ( Dumb) ; and so nobody will be able to understand you. Similarly, without the hands, you wouldn't be able to do alot of things.Without the neck you can't turn your head. Without the body, you don't have the nourishment. Without the legs you can't go anywhere.
No matter, how clever or intelligent one is, we still cannot exist alone - " No man is an island."
Each of us can be independent, we have our own gifts and abilities.
But, we must co-exist with one another, just as each part of a human body. ( GOD BEING OUR HEAD )
DO NOT BE WISE IN YOUR OWN OPINION.
LET LOVE BE WITHOUT HYPOCRISY. ABHOR ( HATE ) WHAT IS EVIL. CLING TO WHAT IS GOOD.
BE KINDLY AFFECTIONATE TO ONE ANOTHER WITH BROTHERLY LOVE, IN HONOR GIVING PREFERENCE TO ONE ANOTHER.
MAY WE LEARN TO BE HUMBLE ; FOR GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVETH GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.

  • WHERE ARE YOUR ACCUSERS!

    Dear Readers,

It's been quite sometimes since I posted the last sharing.
As I ponder over the events that had taken place so far, I
was prompted to write on this matter.
The gist of this story is very simple, but yet the truth it holds
    is very profound.
This is infact a recorded true life story of a lady taken in adultery.
As usual, the scribes and Pharisees ( Pious religious leaders ), caught a woman in adultery, and set her in the midst of Jesus.
Jesus again knew their tricks, and pretended not to hear them, by stooping down and wrote on the ground. But, as they persistently asked Jesus, and He raised Himself up, and said to them," He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her."( For in those days, when a woman is taken in adultery, she was suppose to be stoned to death.) And, again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then, those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest to the last.
And Jesus was left alone with the woman.
When He raised Himself up again, and saw no one except the woman, , He said to her, " Woman, where are those accusers of yours? has no one condemned you?"She replied, " No one , Lord." And Jesus said to her," Neither do I condemned you, go and sin no more."Many times we may falls into this category of an " Accuser", but, let
us examine ourselves, and let us learn from the lesson this true story of the adulterous woman and their accusers.
JUDGE NOT , THAT YOU BE NOT JUDGED.
Jesus said " I am the Light of the World. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." John 8;12

  • BLESSED ARE YOU WHEN YOU ARE PERSECUTED!

    Dear Readers,

" Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
" Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
    Matt. 5:11,12

Well, I don't think anyone, would quite agree to the above two verses, if they look at it in a different perspective from a " Christian."
They would certainly claimed that this is ridiculous; What! How can we be suffering and still be " Blessed "- which means " Happy."
Anyway, looking at it in the whole context in the Book of Matthew, we would understand the meaning.
Here, Matthew is talking about suffering for the Christian faith, persecuted for sharing God( Christ ).
Being reviled and suffering are manifestation of their lack of understanding.... for the " Word of God," is sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to the asunder of the bones and marrow.
They are pricked by their conscience and also for their rejection of God. They will begin to persecute the Christian, just as the prophets were being persecuted in the ancient days.
This is what happens to those who stand up for God....Be sure to count your cost!!!
But, your reward will be great in heaven.

" Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, i press toward thegoal for the prizeof the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
