Dear Readers,

" Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
" Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matt. 5:11,12

Well, I don't think anyone, would quite agree to the above two verses, if they look at it in a different perspective from a " Christian."
They would certainly claimed that this is ridiculous; What! How can we be suffering and still be " Blessed "- which means " Happy."
Anyway, looking at it in the whole context in the Book of Matthew, we would understand the meaning.
Here, Matthew is talking about suffering for the Christian faith, persecuted for sharing God( Christ ).
Being reviled and suffering are manifestation of their lack of understanding.... for the " Word of God," is sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to the asunder of the bones and marrow.
They are pricked by their conscience and also for their rejection of God. They will begin to persecute the Christian, just as the prophets were being persecuted in the ancient days.
This is what happens to those who stand up for God....Be sure to count your cost!!!
But, your reward will be great in heaven.

" Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, i press toward thegoal for the prizeof the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
